SEPTEMBER PART II 16 AUGUST 2020 Mato Grosso percent soy and corn sold and soybean cash flows, Rumo and VLI rail volumes, Nutrien buys two fertilizer plants in Goias, and a deeper dive into last week's Conab numbers. Railroad projects abound everywhere.
SEPTEMBER PART I 4 AUGUST 2020 I have included an update on Mato Grosso corn and cotton yields. An update on MT and Brazil soybean crush rates. I also have included an article that comments on the Rumo expansion in Mato Grosso and where the tracks will go. I have stats on Cofco and Chinese warehouse expansion in MT. Brazil is also seeking international investment for the "Grain railroad" at the same time. Gran Rosario port is the most important ag port in the world with export stats.
AUGUST PART III 24 JULY 2020 There has been a plethora of new info this week. I will send out August part III earlier than I expected too. Updates on soy and corn prices and corn ethanol production until 2028. I also have railroad updates and fertilizer sale stats included. Cotton area for 2021 will be smaller which means more 2nd crop corn. Also included are some irrigation stats.
Kory, I just wanted to thank you for all newsletters and information that you send! I especially enjoyed reading the newsletters every month and learned so much about agricultural and Brazil from those newsletters.
In reading the newsletters, I learned about what happened with your son and the program at Harvard… unfortunately (or fortunately) for me, I was the net beneficiary of situation like that with MBA admissions. Due to the restrictions with VISAs, internationals cannot attend this fall (at least in person) and programs were thus desperate for people who had international experience but can still enter the United States, so expats. I’m still negotiating, but will be either attending University of Virginia or Carnegie Mellon this fall.
