North-South Railway: Caiado announces construction of the Rodoferroviário Terminal, in São Simão, through the Rumo-Caramuru partnership
The governor of the State of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado, announced on Tuesday, July 21, that the companies Rumo and Caramuru Alimentos signed a new partnership and will invest R$ 80 million in the construction of a railroad transshipment terminal for multimodal cargo transportation, interconnected to the North-South Railway. Installed in the municipality of São Simão, in the extreme southwest of Goiás, the terminal will be able to handle more than 5.5 million tons per year of soy, corn and soy meal, which is equivalent to more than 80 thousand trucks per year. "We will have the capacity, along with road transport, to make grains and industrial products reach the Port of Santos at a competitive price for the productive sector of the State of Goiás," said Caiado during a project presentation meeting, held in Emerald Palace.
