INTRODUCTION:   AGRI IN DATA is a Government of Goiás publication, provided by the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Goiás State (Seapa). The data collection and editing are under the responsibility of the Market Intelligence Management of the Superintendence of Sustainable and Rural Production, while the Communication Department is in charge of the graphic design, diagramming and reviewing. The photos in this edition are by the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) and Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa).

  • SOYBEAN PRODUCTION:  Ranked 4th in soybean.

  • Goiás has 7 ag companies among the 100 largest agribusinesses in Brazil.

  • EXPORTS:  The most exported products in the last two years were soy in natura, bagasse and flour, soy oil; corn in natura, processed grains; groats/semolina; beef, poultry, and pork; copper, ferroalloy and gold ore.

  • EXPORTS: The state of Goias is the second-largest exporter of soybeans; 5.2865 million tons in 2022.  Agribusiness exports grew 62.8% reaching US$ 7.7 billion in revenue.

    Soybeans are exported via the Dry Port in Anápolis, Goiás to the seaport in Vitória, Espírito Santo. From the inland river port of São Simon in Goias,  shipped to Southern part of Brazil to the Ports of Paranagua and Santos. 
 
  • SOYBEANS: Planted Area:  3.7 million hectares,

  • ​There are several soybean crusher operations and soybean industries in Goiás.

  • POULTRY: Brazilian leader in poultry production; 415.1 million chickens processed, an increase of 2.1% in relation to 2019.

  • The 12th Grain Harvest Survey, the last of the current cycle, also projects an increase in the planted/cultivated area in the State, from 6.7 million hectares to 6.9 million hectares (2.3%), and the productivity, from 3.8 tons per hectare to 4.1 tons per hectare (9.0%). With the confirmation of the result, Goiás should take the third place among the largest grain producers in the country, surpassing Rio Grande do Sul, heavily impacted by climatic factors, and behind only Mato Grosso and Paraná.  (9 SEPTEMBER 22)
