January 2011
I am surprised at how many early season soybeans are planted and how much cotton is being planted.
One guy in Lucas that planted zero hectares of cotton in 2009 is now planting 19,000 ha of 1st and 2nd crop cotton.
Big switch in certain hotspots.
Harvest is just getting underway - 30 days late.
I have seen yields as low as 40 bushel per acre on super short season beans.
I have seen soybeans with pod counts justifying 70 bushels per acre also.
The weather at the moment is Garden of Eden conditions.
Rain mixed with sun each day.
More updates coming. Next
