  • Port of Itaqui consolidates itself as the fourth largest public port in the country.

  • The National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq) released the list of the five most used Brazilian ports for the export of soybeans in 2023.

During the year, the country shipped a total of 102 million tons of the oilseed in its pure state. The facilities that sent the product abroad the most were the following:

        - Port of Santos: 23.6 million tons
        - Paranaguá: 12.2 million tons
        - Itaqui: 12.1 million tons
        - São Francisco do Sul: 4.8 million tons
        - Rio Grande: 3.8 million tons

  • Arco Norte ports surpass the Port of Santos in grain exports for the first time. Participation in the national total, which was 16.6% in 2009, rose to 37.1% in 2022

  • Agricultural sector moves 311.6 million tons through Brazilian ports in 2022.  Soybeans, however, had a drop in movement of 11%, with 98 million tons passing through Brazilian ports last year.
