Coop milk project to be built in Lucas do Rio Verde |

In One Brazilian Farm Town, Reviving The Forest - Lucas do Rio Verde - NPR Until recently, Darci Eichelt planted soybeans across his entire 6,000-acre farm outside Lucas do Rio Verde in central Brazil. Now, Eichelt is planting native vegetation that will eventually cover about one-third of his property. Sadia S.A. (Sadia) announced
that its Board of Directors approved investments in the amount of
R$308 million to complete the second stage of Lucas do Rio Verde-MT
Project, the purpose of which is to reach a total slaughtering
capacity of 145 million heads per year of poultry and 2.5 million
heads per year of hogs. This investment also includes supporting
areas, utilities, agriculture and livestock. The operational startup
of this second stage is scheduled for the second half of 2010. |
