Depart Minneapolis in the early afternoon to connect with your overnight flight to São Paulo.

Sunday, March 12, 2006
9:45 a.m. arrival at São Paulo International Airport. Kory Melby, your tour guide, will be meeting your group as you exit customs at the Sao Paulo airport. Kory will answer questions and assist with money exchange and ATM cards, etc. We will then take a micro-omnibus transfer to IBIS Hotel. We will have some time to refresh and relax. In the afternoon we will take a tour of São Paulo.

Monday, March 13, 2006
8:00 am we will check out of the hotel. At 8:30 am we will then go to Cargill to view a presentation. At 10:30 am we will meet with representatives of RaboBank. After visiting these two businesses we will stop for lunch. At 1:30 we will meet with representatives of Monsanto. All three of these businesses will give us an overview of their operations within Brazil. At 6:00 pm we will take a TAM flight to Cuiabá with a connection in Brasilia. This is a three hour flight with a one hour layover in Brasilia. When we arrive in Cuiabá we will check into the Amazon Hotel.

Tuesday, March 14, 2006
At 8:00 am we will depart for Campo Verde (Green Field). There we will meet with the group Bom Futuro (Good Future). We will see the harvesting of soybeans. We will also visit an aerial spraying business at the airport. In the evening we will return to Cuiabá go out for dinner and spend the rest of the night relaxing at the Amazon Hotel.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006
At 8:00 am we will depart for Nova Mutum via a micro-omnibus. At 1:00 pm we will arrive in Nova Mutum and after lunch we will visit a value added grape juice farm. Next we will go visit a 250,000 acre farm on our way to Lucas do Rio Verde. We will check into a hotel in Lucas and go out for evening pizza.

Thursday, March 16, 2006
Mid-morning we will visit an English speaking business man. Then we will tour Lucas and other Ag businesses. Around noon we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon we will visit a satellite receiving elevator and farms outside of Lucas and continue to Sorriso for the evening. Check-in hotel in Sorriso.

Friday, March 17, 2006
In the morning we will visit the Bunge facility, a large inland elevator. We will also stop at Monsanto, other Ag business and farms in and around Sorriso. Spend the night in Sorriso.

Saturday, March 18, 2006
At 9:00 am we will drive back to Cuiabá. ETA 4:00 pm. An evening party for NDSU students in Cuiabá.

Sunday, March 19, 2006
Sunday we will be going to the Chapadas, a scenic overview of the whole area. At 5:00 pm we will fly to São Paulo. ETA 9:00 pm. You will then catch your 11:55 pm international flight home.
