September 17:
By 2011, 20 additional sugar/ethanol mills will
be operational in Goiás totaling investments of
R$ 10 billion. Previous government
estimates had calculated a total of 88 new
mills. Lower ethanol prices and less
attractive market conditions are reducing
investments in the sector in Goiás and
nationwide as well.

Grupo Cerradinho, which is
headquartered in Catanduva, São Paulo State, will invest R$ 860
million (US$ 483 million) in ethanol/sugar mill in Porto das
Águas, Chapadão do Céu

in southwest Goiás State. The contract of tax incentives
will be sign this month as reported by Agência de Fomento de
Goiás (GoiásFomento). |
