Chinese Invest in Barreiras

After two years of feasibility studies, the Chongqing Grain Group will be investing R$ 4 billion in various projects in agribusiness, such as food processing, grain storage and logistics. It will be built in a large industrial center with a capacity to crush barriers 1.5 million tons, 300,000 tons of refined oil and store 400,000 tons of grain.

The city of Barreiras donated 100 hectares of land in the new industrial district for construction of the plant site.

Just to get an idea, the manufacturing unit of Bunge Luis Eduardo Magalhaes, the largest in the country, has the capacity to process 1.05 million tons of soybeans.
